If I had to be a little bit harsh on Penalty Shootout I would say that while the potential is there for winning big I never felt that I was going to hit a huge win around the corner especially when I upped my bets.
Although the game is pretty enough with nicely drawn graphics and symbols, I still find it to look a little... basic in some way, just as I do a lot of other NetEnt games. The symbols always seem very small compared to those used by Playtechand the animation is never as smooth as I expect compared to games from other providers being played on the same computer.My usual issue with progressive games is the fact that winning a jackpot - that is, any jackpot, not just the huge Mega millions of pounds ones - is of course a very rare occurance. These jackpots are funded by every spin made on the machine and therefore you have to accept that a significant portion of your play is being used to seed other peoples jackpot wins resulting in a lower overall RTP for the vast majority of sessions where you don't manage a jackpot win. Some games I really feel as if this contribution is noticable but I don't get that feeling when playing Penalty Shootout , but nevertheless it is still worth bearing in mind.
Some 5 of the kind combinations should pay out more. I had many times during my gameplay session 5 of the kind symbols, but most of the time the payouts were small.
Lemmy put it this way, the return to player percentage is on about 96% but I can tell just playing Penalty Shootout , it gives out much less!!! Some of the features were alright but a few that I hated were for the random mystery reels! On any spin, some of the reels fired up to turn into these yellow boar symbol stacks and as each reel gets closer to filling up entirely for these, the slot starts to shake like an earthquake has gone mad and the reels stop....now it is not for the mystery stacks, but for symbols already on the slot like clovers or horseshoes that land instead of the mystery stacks. I hated it when trickery was afoot because I thought that a big win was coming but instead it was either a small win or simply a broken hit! Wilds and scatters are nearly invisible!
