This game basically has the same format as the game KISS: Shout it Out Loud. The theme is a very popular one and it shows that WMS plays it smart when it comes to developing compelling slots with highly attractive themes.The Roman empire always has been a source of inspiration, not only for slots developers but also in popular mainstream media. I’m sure many of us been watching Spartacus the TV-series and Gladiator the movie of course been a blockbuster never to forget. But let’s discuss the slot Spartacus critically this time.Spartacus Gladiator of Rome follows the new trend of WMS slots. Not only does this game have a main set of reels (5x4) but also offers a colossal set of reels (12x5), which makes it possible to have many winning combinations. The minimum bet when using all 100 paylines is 50 cents. This can be decreased, but it means you’ll play with less paylines.I choose to play with all paylines though on 50 cent bets mostly. My experiences with this game haven’t been too good unfortunately. It somehow gives the wrong impression that you can win huge. Well, I’m not sure how that’s even possible on this game. On every reel there are stacked wilds as well and yet I never came further than 20x bet size during the base game.Maybe the free spins have a lot to offer you’d think? I played for some time without hitting a bonus round and had some descent wins. What I noticed about this game was that usually you get a bigger win after a number of spins to compensate for most of the losses you suffered before. There is a great feature when you get an entire reel of wilds they are transferred to the next corresponding reel and can produce some great wins but this happens very rare. Usually you get one or 2 full reels of wilds but no corresponding symbols to connect them on a winning payline or they get connected only on a few paylines. My biggest win on this game was when I got 2 wild reels and 2 reels with the Spartacus symbol. This was in base play and not in the bonus round. Here you have a feature called nudging wilds which can produce some big wins in theory but I have yet to see them on my screen. The wild comes out a lot in this game and if they land in a good combination the you can win a big amount of money. Five wilds pay a huge €100, but unfortunately I never got it. My best win on this feature, and on a small bet was was around €17. And I got the other bonus in it a couple of times. This game also has a weird way of spinning the reels. It always overlaps and pisses me off. Over all the game is ok, and the graphics are not too bad. The pays are ok but you need to get very lucky. If I was to rate this game I would give it 6 out of 10.
